Founded in 1965, Western PA Montessori School has become one of the best pre-schools in the North Hills area. You may already be familiar with some of the details that contribute to the Montessori environment, but I have included some attached materials in case you may want to share our story with someone else.

We were founded by parents as a nonprofit organization and are affiliated with the American Montessori Society in New York. The school has a parent Board of Directors, many of them parents of children currently enrolled in school. Our focus is a program based on self-directed, non-competitive activities that will help our children develop good self-images and the confidence to face challenges and change with a positive attitude.

Parents are urged to become involved in the activities at school. The essence of our program is one of parent involvement. We believe this type of involvement will foster a healthy relationship among child, parent and school. This school is for your child if you want he or she to learn to be curious about learning - curious enough about the world to curl up with a good book.
